About Gellert Kennel

Hi, we’re the Gellert’s.

We’re Simeon and Celina, and we live on an acreage near Chilliwack, British Columbia, where we raise our four children and our poodles. Life is full, a little chaotic, and very much shared with our dogs!

While breeding Miniature American Shepherds, we had the opportunity to welcome a Miniature Poodle, Suzie, into our family. Her easy temperament made her a joy to have in our home and sparked our love for poodles.

It started with Suzie

Although Suzie is not part of our breeding program, she was the beginning of our love for the breed. When Heather MacLeod of HeatherBee Kennels offered us a small part of her breeding program, we welcomed CKC registered Miniature Poodles into our home with her guidance.

A home to grow up in

Our dogs share time in our home and in our heated, air-conditioned kennel. We rotate their time with us so everyone receives attention, affection and opportunities to be part of family life, while maintaining order and control and ensuring everybody minds their manners. There is a fully fenced space to run and play, huge acreage to explore, and smaller enclosures that help us manage exercise and socialization thoughtfully.

They come along on hikes, outings, errands, and spend time around respectful children, adults and other dogs. Our dogs are part of our family, and they get treated as such. We always joke that our dogs have it better than we do! And that’s the way it is supposed to be.
